The award-winning J.R. Tobias Museum & Education Center tells the story of how a marine turned his family homestead into a sprawling zoo that became a favorite family attraction for more than 240,000 park visitors each year. Using videos, photos, artifacts, and hands-on exhibits, the museum entertains and educates visitors on the making of the park, the founder’s love of wildlife, and how we can all contribute to the conservation of our world’s endangered wildlife. At its inception, the J.R. Tobias Museum & Education Center was awarded the New Attraction of the Year Award by the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitor’s Bureau.
In addition to the educational exhibits about the park and endangered animals, the museum also includes animal exhibits. While you’re here you can check out the beautiful toucans and a 500 gallon freshwater aquarium.
